How do I make sure my emails are not going to spam?

If you use Email as one of the main communication channels with your clients and leads, you are afraid of being trapped in spam.

That’s why Docsify made a lot to make your deliverability as high as it’s possible. So here are the steps you need to do to forget about Spam folder.

1. Set up your custom domain for email and link tracking.

Docsify inserts a 1x1 pixel in order to track emails, and if you’ll have your own domain name on it, Docsify’s domain won’t make any impact on deliverability.

2. Disable open/email tracking when you send your first email to someone.

Since in your tracked email there is 1x1 Pixel, Google and Gmail define that as an image and reduces the spam score.

Note. If you had a conversation, a tracking pixel as an image makes a minimum impact on deliverability, but in your first email to someone, Gmail may consider this image (1x1 pixel) as something spammy.

To disable email tracking - just uncheck “Open” on tracking options

3. Don’t add huge images in your signature.

It looks awesome, but huge images in signature make an influence on your deliverability. So try to avoid it.

4. The Image/Text balance

Gmail’s algorithms say that if you send a lot of images and no text you might be a spammer. So take a look at your emails and try to have a balance between images and text.

We recommend having at least 100 words on 1 image

**5. Don’t actually spam from your main domain **

To not be detected as a spammer, try not to be a spammer :)

If you do cold emailing, the domain you use in your emails will be getting worse and worse day to day. So if you do cold emailing don’t use your own domains, use similar, for example:

“Docsify.net” - main

“Docsifyforsalespeople.net” - domain for cold outreach

How to manage notifications in Docsify?

When the recipient performs any actions you receive real-time desktop push notifications. Moreover, if you missed those notifications, you get the messages from Docsify with the same information on your email.

If it's no use getting all the notifications for you, you can make a choice of what to receive or not.

How can I disable tracking for special emails?

You can disable and enable email tracking on a global level and for a specific email.

1. When you compose an email and don't want to track it, just disable tracking in the Compose window.

How can I disable email and push notification?

If you want to enable or disable EMAIL and DESKTOP notification by default you should go to the Admin panel and then to the Settings/Notifications.

What do Branding or Corporate link mean in your Docsify Branding?

Accepted Answer

To get detailed statistics about how your recipient interacted with your PDF documents, we need to convert it into trackable links. And when you send documents with Docsify it opens as web-page with their own URL.

So branding gives you an opportunity to customize that URL.

Standard (by default) - "present.docsify.net/.."
Brand - "yourcompanyname.docsify.net/..."
Corporate - "yourcompanyname.com/..."

How can non-gmail users work with Docsify?

You're not using Gmail or G Suite but still want to get the value using Docsify.

This is a quick guide for you.

(Here we'll use an Outlook email account as an example, but you may use this guide for any other email provider: Zoho, Hotmail, Yandex, and so on.)

Step #1Create a new Gmail account. For example - "name.yourcompanyname@gmail.com." Don't worry it's free.

How to set-up a custom domain for tracking emails and links?

Docsify tracks your email and links and shows you when your emails were opened and links were clicked.

To track your emails we need to:

Put 1x1 invisible pixel in Email
Convert your link into trackable one

Both pixel and the trackable link is connected to Docsify (the URL is content.docsify.net/pixel/….)

But you can make this URL totally custom for example - pxl.yourcompanyname.com.

As a result, you will get:

Better deliverability
Won’t be trapped as a Spammer due to the standard URL
Your recipients won’t know that you track them with Docsify

To do that and then check the Custom Domain with these steps:

(If the words "CNAME record" or "DNS settings" mean nothing to you or if you do not have any experience making changes to your domain DNS records you should email your registrar/system administrator and either ask for guidance or ask them to make the changes for you. Docsify does not have access to your domain records.

Here is a sample email that you can send to your registrar:

1. Create a new record for your domain. The Name/Host should be for example track.yourdomain.com

2. Setup a DNS CNAME record with value tracking.docsify.net in your subdomain's DNS settings

3. Wait 20-25 minutes

4. Go to DNS_CHECKER

5. Enter your Domain Name, choose CNAME, and push Search

How to set-up a Corporate URL for documents?

As you know, Docsify can track your documents and show you how much time your recipient has spent on each page of your PDF files.

To do that we convert your attachment into a tracked link with the Docsify’s URL.

We have a few options to customize that URL - Branding and Corporate (take a look at the difference between them)

To make your Document corporate - WITH NO MENTION of Docsify in URL do the next things:

(If the words "CNAME record" or "DNS settings" mean nothing to you or if you do not have any experience making changes to your domain DNS records you should email your registrar/system administrator and either ask for guidance or ask them to make the changes for you. Docsify does not have access to your domain records.

Here is a sample email that you can send to your registrar:
