How to set-up a Corporate URL for documents?
As you know, Docsify can track your documents and show you how much time your recipient has spent on each page of your PDF files.
To do that we convert your attachment into a tracked link with the Docsify’s URL.
We have a few options to customize that URL - Branding and Corporate (take a look at the difference between them)
To make your Document corporate - WITH NO MENTION of Docsify in URL do the next things:
(If the words "CNAME record" or "DNS settings" mean nothing to you or if you do not have any experience making changes to your domain DNS records you should email your registrar/system administrator and either ask for guidance or ask them to make the changes for you. Docsify does not have access to your domain records.
Here is a sample email that you can send to your registrar: "I need to create a CNAME record for {your subdomain name} and point it to custom.docsify.net. Can you either set this up for me or provide me with instructions on how to make the necessary changes? Note that I want to keep using you as my domain registrar. I am not requesting a transfer and do not have new name servers") *
1. Create a new record for your domain.
The Name/Host should be for example docs.yourdomain.com
2. Setup a DNS CNAME record with value custom.docsify.net in your subdomain's DNS settings.
NOTE: If you're using CloudFlare as a hosting provider, please do one more thing - click on the orange button here
3. Wait 20-25 minutes
4. Go to DNS_CHECKER
5. Enter your Domain Name, choose CNAME, and push Search
👉 If you get results where CNAME is equal to custom.docsify.net , then go to step 7.
👉 If CNAME isn’t still equal to custom.docsify.net go step 6.
6. Wait for some time, and then back to step 5 again to check your DNS record.
7. Go to Docsify Admin Panel/Settings/Branding -https://app.docsify.net/a/0/settings/branding
8. Choose the "Corporate" option and enter a subdomain you’ve created
9. Click “SAVE”
